VIHEF 2027 to Position Vietnam as an Emerging Halal Trade and Sourcing Hub

Vietnam International Halal Expo & Forum will connect Vietnamese businesses with international buyers, investors, government stakeholders and Halal industry partners across ASEAN, GCC and global markets.

HANOI, Vietnam – November 2026 – Vietnam is set to deepen its engagement with the rapidly expanding global Halal economy through the Vietnam International Halal Expo & Forum 2027 (VIHEF 2027), taking place from 22–24 April 2027 at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC) in Hanoi.

Organised by Informa Markets Vietnam, with the Vietnam Halal Certification Authority (HALCERT) as a supporting organisation, VIHEF 2027 is being developed as a dedicated international trade platform connecting Vietnam’s growing production and export capabilities with buyers, distributors, investors, government institutions, certification bodies and industry partners across the global Halal ecosystem.

Under the positioning “Where Vietnam Meets the Global Halal Economy,” VIHEF aims to go beyond a conventional trade exhibition by combining product sourcing, international pavilions, conferences, business matching, hosted buyer programmes and high-level networking within one integrated platform.

A Growing Global Opportunity

The global Halal economy continues to expand alongside rising demand for Halal-compliant, ethical and traceable products and services.

According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2024/25, the global Halal economy was valued at approximately USD 2.43 trillion in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 3.36 trillion by 2028. Halal imports by Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries are also projected to reach approximately USD 608 billion by 2028.

Vietnam is increasingly well positioned to participate in this growth. Approximately 1,000 Vietnamese enterprises currently hold Halal certification, while bilateral trade with Muslim-majority countries reached around USD 24.7 billion in 2025, including approximately USD 10.9 billion in Vietnamese exports.

With strengths across agriculture, seafood, coffee, beverages, processed food, manufacturing and packaging, Vietnam has a strong foundation to expand its role in regional and global Halal supply chains.

Halal Beyond Food

VIHEF 2027 will showcase the broader Halal economy, extending well beyond food and beverages.

Key exhibiting sectors will include food and ingredients, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, beauty and personal care, food technology and packaging, modest fashion and lifestyle, retail and e-commerce, logistics and certification services, Muslim-friendly hospitality and tourism, media, Islamic finance and fintech.

The inaugural edition is expected to welcome more than 100 exhibitors, over 3,000 trade visitors and participants from more than 20 countries and regions, across approximately 5,000 square metres of exhibition space.

International participation will also be promoted through Country Pavilions, enabling governments, trade promotion organisations, associations and businesses to showcase national Halal capabilities and connect directly with the Vietnamese and regional markets.

From Exhibition to Business Outcomes

Business matching will be a central component of VIHEF.

Through its Hosted International Buyers Programme, VIHEF will facilitate selected international buyers and arrange one-to-one meetings with participating exporters and suppliers. Priority sourcing areas are expected to include food and beverages, seafood, ingredients, packaging, OEM manufacturing and private-label products.

The event will also feature a comprehensive conference programme addressing Halal standards and certification, export readiness, market access, ASEAN market trends, cross-border trade, logistics, digital commerce and government policy.

A dedicated Halal Pitchfest will provide selected startups, SMEs and emerging brands with an opportunity to present their products and business propositions directly to buyers, distributors, investors and industry experts, helping promising businesses improve market readiness and build international commercial connections.

“VIHEF is being developed not simply as another exhibition, but as a long-term trade platform connecting Vietnam’s production and export capabilities with the global Halal economy,” said Jeffrey Au, Business Development Director – Asia & ASEAN, Informa Markets.

“Our objective is to bring together the right suppliers, buyers, government stakeholders and industry partners, and create practical pathways for trade, market access and international cooperation.”

Building a long-term Halal trade platform

VIHEF supports Vietnam’s broader ambition to strengthen its Halal ecosystem and deepen international cooperation with Halal markets.

Beyond its inaugural edition, the event aims to contribute to positioning Vietnam as an important Halal sourcing and export destination in ASEAN, while creating a long-term platform connecting policy, certification, trade, investment and business development.

VIHEF 2027 will take place from 22–24 April 2027 at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC), Hanoi, Vietnam.
