Though Hyundai retains top spot
Sales of hydrogen-powered vehicles fell from January to September, due to insufficient refilling infrastructure and the limited choice of models.
According to SNE Research on Monday, sales dropped a little over 21-percent year-on-year globally. But while Hyundai saw its sales fall around 50 percent compared to last year, the company kept its position on top of the global market with an over 38 percent share.
By country, South Koreans bought the most hydrogen-powered vehicles during the same period, despite a drop of about a half from that of last year.
Meanwhile, China and the U.S. saw hikes in sales mainly as hydrogen-fuelled commercial vehicles, and Toyota’s Mirai model saw rises respectively.
